Unlike Kanye West's infamous performance at Bonnaroo, where he was 3-5 hours behind schedule for his early AM set, where he walked onto stage as fans were leaving and the sun was shining on that Tennessee fairground, luckily for the folks at Coachella Kanye West was only 15 minutes behind schedule due to the earlier acts though. Kanye opens up his set with a HAM instrumental and ballerina's dressed like Phoenix's dancing on stage, then a mural of angels is produced behind the girls and as the beat builds the ballerina's are on there hands and knees praising to the mural, with vibrant shaking. Meanwhile in the middle of the crowd Mr. West shows up on a cherry picker looking thing, up high in the sky immediately into his first song on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy "Dark Fantasy" I fantasize about this back in Chicago... (as the crowd is screaming and singing along) Kanye is then transferred on this thing, down to the stage, where he completes the rest of act one. "Read More for more review and videos"
Act II has now begun and its Mr. West's greatest hits, performing songs like "Through the wire" "Gold Digger" "Flashing Lights" "Say you will" and many more. Then he says he has one more hit song to do and all of a sudden you hear "Turn up the lights in here baby" and Mr. West starts performing his hit off of MBDTF, "All of the Lights" however typically with Kanye he loads it with star features however this time he only had Justin Vernon of Bon Iver and Pusha-T. Anyway after Kanye finished all of the lights he played "Stronger" and then Act II was concluded.
The Ballerina's took the stage again, and this time with an army parachute looking thing, as the song "Chariots of Fire" played. The ballerinas started to get the parachute to become higher and higher as they covered them selves behind it, and next thing you know out pops Kanye West wearing the Red Suit were all used to seeing him in. He steps to the front of the stage and there's the MPC, Kanye hits one key on it and the fans erupt, "Runaway is next." Kanye then uses the "look at cha" sample button a little excessively, as the stage just becomes him with the ballerina's in the back. Kanye finishes his first verse and next thing you know Pusha-T is out in an all white suit, rapping his verse. Then Kanye goes to the song "Lost in the World" with Bon Iver on the stage. After that Kanye has a little speech for all the fans, about how playing Coachella was his dream and that he always told his momma that. Increidible because right after that line everyone knows Kanye is dedicating his performance to Donda West, and lets out a very emotional "Hey Mama" as his last song, almost bringing a tear to his eye, which we haven't seen since when he did the Grammy performance after she passed. Anyway the concert was amazing minus an out of breath Kanye, a few forgotten lyrics, and some of Kanye's poor singing. Anyway here are some performances from "Coachella"
