Do You Know Me? Day 7: TSOL- Shad

TSOL - Shad: What more is there to say, if you know me then you know that I'm a Huge Shad fan.  I first discovered Shad when I thought I had a chance of going to Warped Tour.  I was checking out the line-up and listening to a song by each artist, and the Song "Brother" came on off of his 2nd album "The Old Prince" and I fell in love instantly.  So now he's finished his third studio album in 2010 and he's shot up in the hip-hop ranks in Canada with it.  Winning the Juno Award for "Rap Recording of the Year" beating out Canadian sensation Drake's "Thank Me Later".  That's huge honor's for anyone, considering there is good hip-hop coming out of Canada daily.  Shad however unlike some of our more familiar canadian rappers, is the cleanest of them all, raps about loving life, social issues, respect for women and way more.  He's not the type to rap about "Screwing your chick"(my parents read this, keeping it PG-13), lighting-up, money, and the other stereotypical rap subjects.  TSOL is a refreshing album, filled with great hooks, great lyrics, great rap flow, rap/rock influences, great production by Dj T LO.  Overall this album is one of my favorite of all time.  To check out some of my favorite songs off the album "Read More"
To be honest, it's almost impossible for me to select my favorite two off of this album, because I pretty much love every song and every word uttered on this masterpiece.  Anyway the two I think you all will like the most are:
Rose Garden: Absolutely an amazing song, just talking about how life isn't always perfect, in the simplest terms " I didn't promise you a Rose Garden, along with the sunshine, there's gonna be some rain sometimes" that line exemplifies it right there, life isn't always perfect but you need to move on it'll get better, there is sunshine, just get past the rain.

Yaa I Get It: is a great example of a rock/rap mash-up, features guitars, and other rock instrumentals as Shad absolutely tears up the mic over top of them.  This song in 1 word is "amazing," compared to some of his other stuff which is a bit slower, this song has that very fast tempo, that will get you falling in love with it.  Just see for yourself
